Suaviter in modo, fortiter in re - Gentle in manner, resolute in deed
Welcome to The WRAC Association website. Whether you have served or, indeed, are still serving, I hope that you will have a look at this website and join our thriving association.
The heart of our Association is our members and we have a network of 52 branches across the UK and overseas. You will see in the Gallery on this website the many and varied activities that our members participate in from the annual 10kms Run to the Remembrance weekend in London. There are events to suit all whether you are a Branch member or not and in addition there are thriving communities on various social media sites.
The WRAC Association marked 100 Years of Women in the Army in 2017 and we were lucky enough to be able to celebrate at various events across the country. All of these events are in our journal Lioness, which as a member, you will receive twice a year.
We are marking our Centenary in 2019 and the planning is already well advanced. This will be a year to remember with events in Guildford Cathedral, a celebratory weekend in Southampton and a Service of Dedication later in the year at the National Memorial Arboretum. All of the details for these events will be in the Lioness and on the web site which all members have access to. This will be the year to meet old friends and make new friends remembering your Service in whatever decade it was. We have members who served in World War 2 to members who are still serving now. This Centenary Year of the WRAC Association will remember and honour all those who have served in the WAAC, the QMAAC, the ATS and the WRAC and also those women serving today. We must keep this proud legacy alive.
Please have a look at our recently revised website. Spread the word and come and join us to be part of our 3,000 strong membership; you will discover old friends and become part of the WRAC Association family.
